So far, students at the ROCOR Jordanville Seminary, New York, were able to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology.
On April 10, the Board of Trustees decided to offer a Master of Divinity degree, starting next school year. Full scholarships will also be available.
The seminary was founded in 1948 by Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko). Thanks to the rich relationship between the seminary and Holy Trinity Monastery, seminarians have the opportunity of a deep liturgical and prayer life.
Famous names in American Orthodox history have been part of the faculty along the years, such as Archbishop Averky of Syracuse, Protopresbyter Michael Pomazansky, and Archimandrite Konstantin.
Father Alexander, the seminary dean, explained the importance of this degree for North American clergy.
The degree will be obtained at the end of a three year course. It will help students apply the fruit of their theological and pastoral studies in practical contexts.
