The Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki just organized their 8th International Conference of Orthodox Theology from May 21-25, 2018 in Thessaloniki. This year it focused on “The Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church: Orthodox Theology in the 21st Century.”
Morning conferences were given in Greek and English by several bishops, priests, and Sister Vassa, especially about the connection between The Holy and Great Synod and our 21st century world.
Afternoon papers were delivered by a large variety of international scholars, several highlighting future challenges towards the path to unity.
A panel was organized about “The Holy and Great Council-View of Other Christian Traditions”, with many participants, among which was Prof. Paul Meyendorff, St. Vladimir’s Theological Seminary, NY. Members of other Christian denominations intervened as well.
